11 Year Old Pune Girl Anvita Telang Wins Doodle 4 Google Contest
Q What does your doodle mean?
‘Enjoy every moment in life’, this is what I wanted to tell everyone through my doodle. In the current stressful times, greatest joys of life are often hidden in simple things, thus I would like to teach everyone to take time to enjoy every moment of life and appreciate the simple things around us.
Q Since when did you start making doodles? What does this win mean to you?
When I was five-years-old, I have been doodling and drawing. As a kid I would often make greetings cards for my near and dear ones and I still do. This win means a lot as it has brought smiles and happiness in my life and proud moment for my parents.
Q What was the best part of being part of this contest?
It has to be the platform that it offered to the budding doodlers like me across the country, to express their ideas through Doodle 4 Google.
Q Who has been your inspiration?
My mother who is a graphic designer, her guidance and suggestions has always helped me.
Q Do you always use references for your doodles, or do you sometimes draw from your imagination?
Most of the time I draw from my imagination but there are many Youtube videos on art.
Q Did you take part in any design-related studies, or is it just pure talent?
I have been attending art classed in my neighbourhood for the last two years. It was there that I got the required guidance to doodle.
Q When do you find the time for doodling while studying?
I don’t study all the time. So I manage time to Doodle whenever I am in the mood to draw whatever I have in mind.
Q Did you enjoy meeting other kids who were part of the contest?
Of course this competition was a great platform to get meet contestants from different parts of the country. I got an opportunity to discuss with them and exchange concepts. It was a wonderful experience.
I feel dreams are meant to be enjoyed in your sleep. And not expect them to turn to reality.
Q Any advice for aspiring artists who still haven’t discovered that unique style of theirs?
Keep doodling on any surface like paper, notebook, blackboards but make sure not the wall because then you are in big trouble. You need not be artistic and not worry much about proportions because doodles are supposed to be just your thought poured on to paper. So keep doodling whenever you get time. More you Doodle more you’ll get the hang of it.
